At Messenger Family Dentistry, Dr. Nicole Messenger understands that COVID-19 has changed a lot about your life. It doesn’t have to interfere with high-quality preventive dental care in Durham. At our office, we’re taking a lot of precautions to keep you and your family safe. Your safety is our highest priority. You can see some of the changes we’ve made for your safety below, or contact us now for a consultation.
First, we are limiting the number of patients in our office at any given time and scheduling appointments farther apart to ensure we can minimize the number of people in our office and comply with social distancing guidelines.
We ask that each patient comes to our office alone, unless you require assistance getting into and out of our office, or you are the guardian of a child with an appointment at Messenger Family Dentistry.
In addition to this, we are requiring patients to fill out an online screening questionnaire on the day of their appointments. This will ask questions about past travel, symptoms you may be experiencing, and whether or not you’ve had contact with anyone who tested positive for COVID-19.
To reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19, we have closed our waiting room. We ask that you wait in your car when you arrive at Messenger Family Dentistry, and send our team members a text message or give us a call when you get here.
When your operatory is ready, we will call or text you, and you can come into our office. You will be taken directly to your room to minimize time spent in common areas. We ask that you wear a mask or a similar face covering for your protection.
You will also have your temperature taken with a touchless infrared thermometer upon arrival. If your temperature is much higher than normal, you may be asked to reschedule your consultation at Messenger Family Dentistry.
All team members are screened before entering our office. Our front desk team members are wearing masks, and we have also added a new sneeze guard to the front office area, and installed touchless hand sanitizer dispensers throughout our office.
Our dental team members are also wearing additional PPE such as face shields, head and shoe coverings, and gowns when appropriate. This ensures a minimal risk of infection and cross-contamination.
We have added air purifiers throughout our office to catch and dispose of microbes, and filter viruses and bacteria, leading to a cleaner overall atmosphere for all patients and team members.
In addition, we are now using specialize suction equipment to remove oral aerosols during common dental procedures. With this suction equipment, the risk of COVID-19 spreading through airborne droplets is dramatically reduced.
At our office, Dr. Messenger and our team members are doing everything we can to keep you and your family safe during this difficult time. So don’t let COVID-19 prevent you from getting the dental care you need for a healthy smile. Contact us online or give us a call at (919) 596-1219 to get started.
